since 2016: CNRS research scientist (chargé de recherche)
🏛️ at LRGP (from 2026) & LCPM (2016-2025), Université de Lorraine, Nancy, France 🔬
I have established an independent and competitive research program in supramolecular peptide-based materials, supported by major funding as PI (ANR JCJC, CNRS, I-SITE), focusing on the development of next-generation supramolecular (bio)materials from protein, peptide, and nucleopeptide assemblies. My work seeks to establish predictive relationships between molecular design and emergent properties across scales using a multiscale analytical approach, thereby enabling the rational design of functional materials for biomedical applications, particularly in antioxidant systems and hydrogel-based materials.
I have supervised PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and master’s students, fostering interdisciplinary training in synthesis, soft matter and multiscale analysis. My work has led to numerous peer-reviewed publications in leading journals, reflecting a strong and sustained scientific impact. I place particular emphasis on collaborative research, which I consider essential to address complex challenges by combining complementary expertise and advancing innovative functional materials.
2013-2016: Postdoctoral researcher
🏛️ Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy 🇮🇹
After my PhD, I moved to Politecnico di Milano, involved in an ERC project (Foldhalo) in the group of Pr. Pierangelo Metrangolo. My work was focused on the impact of halogenation on peptide and protein self-assemblies in both biological contexts (e.g., oxidative stress) and biotechnology (mainly in the formation of soft materials). In 2014, I obtained the Polimi International Fellowship for 18 months to pursue my research in the same group.
2010-2013: PhD in Chemisty
🏛️Université de Bourgogne, Dijon, France 🍷
After a master’s degree in Molecular Chemistry and Green Process, I joined the Institut de Chimie Moléculaire de l’Université de Bourgogne (ICMUB) for a Ph.D. thesis, funded by the CNRS (bourse BDI), under the supervision of Dr. David Monchaud, my mentor and my role model. All along these years, I worked in a very pluridisciplinary project, from chemistry to biophysics and biology, focused on the studies of non-canonical DNA/RNA structures and, mainly, on the synthesis, biophysical and physicochemical studies and applications of water-soluble template-assembled G-quartets (TASQ). These innovative molecules were both used as DNA ligands in an anticancer research context and in the nanotechnology field with unprecedented peroxidase-like properties.
🏅Awards: Thesis Prize of the French Chemical Society (Organic Chemistry Division)
